((Congratulations! You're a winner! Well... everyone who bid on Yanyou is a winner, since he absolutely will not accept any explanation that he's only supposed to go on a date with ONE of the people who expressed interest in dating him. He will seek you out at the charity ball if he can find you, or he may simply text you the time and location for your date:
I look forward to our romantic outing!! Please meet me at Cafe Azure
[ He doesn't know about actual dating either, but meeting some new company is alright. ]
That would be fine. I do not really mind going into the city occasionally though, so I will simply make that my weekly outing if that is what you prefer.
[ New company is always alright in Ozpin's book. He's using this chance on an alien planet to actually learn and meet new people. ]
Oh, no. I wouldn't want to take that away from you, especially if it's something akin to a special weekly occurrence. The groves will do just fine for our intended meeting. Any specific time or day?
[Truth be told, were chroma not the source of life energy on this planet, Zen wouldn't even make an effort to keep a vague track of the times he properly engages in moonlacing. As pleasurable (he'll admit that much) and necessary for survival as it is, he doesn't really get why some people are so greedy to pursue it on a daily basis like addicts.
But with the effects of the shortage starting to take toll on his work and daily life in general, it becomes difficult to ignore that it is a(n annoying) pressing issue. The only choice he has in the matter is whom to turn to.
He wouldn't say he completely trusts any of his acquaintances enough to ask for help, but he does recall one of them feeling indebted to him enough to offer help in return... which he promptly turned down at the time. Now he's almost glad the man insisted, he can use it as an excuse to approach the other without making it any more awkward. And that's how he finds himself messaging the (much) older man that evening.]
[ Well. This is certainly a...surprise. He hasn't spoken to Zen in quite sometime, has he? Not ever since...the memory they had shared. Ozpin still thinks of if, of course, it's hard to forget such a trauma thing. But the other's request takes his mind off of that. ]
Zen? It's been some time, and now you ask? [ There's an amused tone to his voice. ]
But, yes, of course. An offer is an offer and not one I would take back lightly. You, have, after all saved me twice now. So if I can be of some help, that's certainly not a problem.
[Zen on the other hand is good at forgetting things... or rather, pretending and convincing himself he forgot things. And Sanguis is giving an extra push in that direction, encouraging him to completely erase unimportant worries (sorry Oz) for his own sanity.
Oz, are you sure you want to be sassy to a(n annoyed) Sanguis moonblessed one day before the moon peaks? To prove it's unwelcome, Zen will counter the amused tone with an annoyed one.]
I wouldn't be asking now if I didn't need it now.
[And he's totally not going to comment on the "saved me twice" part as usual, and skip straight to answer the question.]
... Someone to moonlace with. Are you free right now?
Moonlace...ah. Yes of course. And you...want me, for that? [ Confusion was used and it's super effective. Well he can't say he's surprised? Or perhaps he should say he is...given how closed off Zen was. Ozpin could understand it, to an extent, after all it was hard to do something like moonlacing complete strangers. So, given the nature of things, he gets it.
Still he never would have imagined Zen asking him of all people. He's sorry for the sass, now! If he had know the nature of the call he wouldn't have given him such a reply?! ]
You're not...too bad off, are you? [ He sounds like a teacher admonishing a student with that tone in his voice. Concern and yet something strict in there as well. ]
[More like Zen's been fasting on purpose... or kind of. If he was going to have to ask for help eventually, there was little point in asking before he even needed it. And it was a good chance to put the limits to which he could go without moonlacing to the test.]
Well, yeah. Just this once is fine.
[Although if all goes well (aka if it doesn't feel super awkward), surely it wouldn't hurt to make it a habit? Both of them would benefit from it.
But alas! Oz's teacher voice is not very effective...]
Does that really matter now? If you're not up for it, just say so.
[Because neither denying nor confirming it pretty much confirms it. But the last thing Zen wants is the old man worrying about him like he's some child who can't take care of himself. Which, when it comes to moonlacing, is closer to the truth than he would like to think.]
[Good thing Ozpin can't see his face right now, otherwise he'd see Zen frowning at the screen with his lips pursed into a faint pout. The temptation to come up with a witty comeback to yet another of Ozpin's corny lines is certainly there, but he's far from being in the mood to keep dragging this conversation.]
That's not a very tempting offer, but I'll give it some thought.
[Asking Ozpin to drop by would be like confessing that, indeed, he is quite bad off, even if Ozpin will figure it out with a single glance at him once they meet anyway. And while he doesn't really think the older man would attempt anything funny, he doesn't find the idea of being alone in a private room with him appealing — he knows from experience that Sanguis' effects are not to be underestimated. Under these circumstances, a public place would be the safest choice, but if they're going to moonlace, he'd rather pick somewhere with as little public eye as possible. All the better if it's within walking distance, given his condition.
Of course, he doesn't voice any of these thoughts at all, and instead just types in the coordinates to a small, cozy park close to the residential district on level 2, where he currently lives. He speaks up after pressing the button to send the text.]
Neither. Check the text I've just sent for the place. See you there.
[ Such a prickly young man, Zen. Ozpin gives a curious hum before he looks at the designated spot. He doesn't normally care about moonlacing in front of others, he hasn't exactly done anything too...debauch though. Hand holding, hugging, nothing nearly scandalous enough to mind going to a nearby park. ]
Very well. I'll meet you there in a few minutes then.
[ And with that he'll get up, cane in tow, and walk to said park. It's not as grandiose as the groves but it's quaint and homey enough to put one at ease. And so he'll wait just outside the entrance leaning against the iron gate with his cane in hand for the other to arrive. ]
Ana was thinking this with a twitch of annoyance as she stared at her ceiling with flushed cheeks and labored breathing. This was not working for her.
There had been a kindness this month in that her dragon traits this time around were vastly toned down, no tail or wings but small horns with small baby leaves and thin vines, limbs speckled with green chromatic scales that faded out at her torso as well as starting from her ears and mixing with her freckles.
But.
But.
She was going crazy in... other ways. Ways that she wanted to just deal with herself and not immediately go running to Ozpin to shove her needs off on him every time something like this came up, but damned if it wasn't doing anything. Every attempt just ended in frustration and annoyance and finally just giving up.
She grabbed her phone and didn't even bother to make herself look presentable, curls of red splayed around her head on her pillow, cheeks still flushed and a sheen of sweat on her brow.
Of course as soon as he picks up she wants to crawl into a hole and hide. Dragon Cat's out of the bag now, though.]
[ And Iris is as well. He often finds himself tempted to go over to Ana's during Iris but he doesn't know if he should. Despite his easy going nature he's still...uncertain about things, new things, things he hasn't felt for centuries towards someone else.
He often worries he might ruin it somehow and given his history it's not exactly unwarranted. But he does answer her video call with his own, he looks a bit better, but not by much. He'll give her a fond smile as he shakes his head 'no'. ]
[She says it with a resigned sigh, more worked up than tired but also just generally annoyed. She rolls over on her side, moving the communicator with her making it clear that she's not exactly. Dressed. Bare freckled shoulders mixed with those shimmering scales and a lot more than that is visible briefly while she readjusts.]
I'm starting to think Sanguis picked me out of spite. Or at the very least to see how much I'll try to brute force my way through something before giving in.
[Considering what she's struggling with that probably sounds terrible and uncomfortable. It wasn't. At first.]
... would it be too much to ask you to... come over... ?
Ah. I see. [ If he's being honest he isn't either. Iris tended to make him...uncomfortable in a manner of speaking. He couldn't really say what it was but having these feelings and urges was different. He never really knew how to act of them or if he even should for that matter.
He was getting better at it, of course, given the circumstances of this place and now with Ana to push him he often tended to seek her company when the Iris moon was out in full. Ozpin will let out a soft hm, before sighing and nodding. ]
No, not at all. I was just thinking...that I did want to see you.
[Being relatively pale meant a blush was difficult to hide, but he's one she doesn't mind seeing such things.
And, obviously, more.
She smiles lightly, and while some part of her knows it's just the moons pushing them more than usual right now she could care less. She wants to be with him, near him, and her body is aching for even the smallest touch.]
[Ana gives a light smile of amusement. She knows he's constantly fighting between that worry and fear that he doesn't deserve anything and urges that have been ignored for far too long amplified by the power of the moons.
She's glad he's finally starting to allow himself to have these things, though.
She nods and sits up, loose curls in a mess of red falling over pale flushed skin and light green eyes excited.]
[ The triple moons are definitely a factor in his eagerness. But Ozpin takes some deep breaths and cools off before he does anything too spontaneous. He's too careful, is his real problem, but at least he has Ana to help coax and pull him from his shell at times.
He'll arrive outside her apartment and knock with a firm and eager pace to it. He tidy himself up, not that he needs to do much, but he looks presentable in a shirt and sweater vest to accompany it. Even if his expression is its normal stoic nature his twitching rabbit ears and tail make it easy to tell that he's delighted and excited to be here. ]

Ah, yes, that's right. I do hope to be welcomed company, if anything. Is there anywhere in particular you feel the most comfortable going to?

[ He doesn't trust human intentions most of the time. ]
I must confess I do not do well with crowds, even though I have improved a little since coming here some months ago.

[ That's all Ozpin really wanted. Meeting new people was something of a delight for him. ]
Then perhaps the groves will suffice? I rather not make you feel uncomfortable, if that's the case.

I may be exaggerating a little, but alright. If you're certain.
I do not have much of a schedule, to be honest. Although depending on how close we are to the farmstead, afternoon might be the best.
no subject
Then the afternoon it is. I wouldn't mind going to the farmstead, either. I've been hearing that it is quite beautiful around this time.
